The Tennessee Vols will head to Gainesville this weekend for a big rivalry game against the Florida Gators.

This year’s matchup between the Vols and the Gators doesn’t have high stakes — Florida has seven losses and can’t reach a bowl game, while Tennessee has essentially been eliminated from the College Football Playoff picture — but this game still has plenty of meaning.

Tennessee hasn’t won in the Swamp since 2003. And because of the new nine-game SEC conference schedule, this will be the Vols’ last chance to win in Gainesville until 2029.

The Vols’ 2025 season hasn’t gone like many in Knoxville hope it would, but getting a win in the Swamp would certainly help fans forget about the disappointment of not making the College Football Playoff.

Vols redshirt junior wide receiver Chris Brazzell met with reporters on Monday, and he was asked about his mindset heading into this weekend’s prime time matchup against the Gators.

Brazzell, who is in his second season at Tennessee after transferring from Tulane, delivered a perfect three-word response.

“Just go win.”

That’s all that should matter for the Vols this weekend. They can’t do anything about the 10 previous losses in Gainesville. Nothing that happened in those games will impact what happens on Saturday night in the Swamp.

Tennessee’s sole focus must be on winning — not just the game, but each rep. The scoreboard doesn’t mean a thing until the clock hits zero on Saturday night. The Vols have to stay in the moment. Otherwise, it could be another disappointing flight back to Knoxville from Northern Florida.
