The Ohio State Buckeyes have one road game left against Rutgers before Ryan Day gets another crack at the Michigan Wolverines. Ohio State is sitting at 10-0 and ranked No. 1 in the country, but the Buckeyes haven’t truly accomplished anything yet.

Beating Michigan is something the Buckeyes haven’t done in their last four attempts. Ohio State just handled UCLA by 38 points, and they should do much of the same against Rutgers. After the trip to face the Scarlet Knights, the Buckeyes get their first chance to accomplish goal No. 1.

Ryan Day gets trolled by Connor Stalions ahead of the Michigan game

The loss to Michigan last season was a surprising one for the Buckeyes, especially considering how heavily favored they were entering the game. Ohio State lost 13-10, and it changed the team in a big way. After that, Ohio State put together an amazing run to capture the National Championship for the first time in a decade. Recently, one of Ohio State’s team captains admitted that the loss to Michigan last year changed Coach Day.

“A lot of people see it. I just feel like ever since that Team Up North loss last year, it’s been a different Coach Day,” Ohio State WR Brandon Inniss said.

Former Michigan staffer Connor Stalions quoted Inniss’ comments with a message that essentially means he’ll have to see it to believe it. The one shadow over Day’s career in Columbus has been his inability to beat Michigan. Day is 80-10 as Ohio State’s head coach, and four of those losses have come against the Wolverines. The first goal the Buckeyes set each season is beating Michigan. After that, it’s all about making a run to win the College Football Playoff.

Ohio State will again be strong favorites over the Wolverines when they travel to Ann Arbor at the end of the month. Michigan is a two-loss team ranked No. 18 in the country and is expected to struggle offensively without star RB Justice Haynes. The opportunity is there for Day and the Buckeyes to get back on track against Michigan — and perhaps quiet Stalions in the process.
