Kansas City Chiefs OC Matt Nagy delivers a ‘loud and clear’ powerful message before matchup vs. Colts
Matt Nagy and the Chiefs are not giving up.
Starting 5-5 for the Kansas City Chiefs is the worst through 10 games in the Patrick Mahomes-Andy Reid era. Despite the record, the team still appears strong on paper, with a roster and advanced stats indicating a good football team. With a .500 winning percentage, the Chiefs remain in the playoff race, but their performance suggests they may not be good enough to make it.
The message is clear – the Chiefs are still fighting and won’t give up until they are officially out of playoff contention.
“We’re in a place right now where we understand the sense of urgency…I will make it loud and clear, there’s no other people or players around that I’d rather be around to do this thing the right way,” offensive coordinator Matt Nagy told reporters on Thursday.
Against the Denver Broncos, the team looked flat, but it can’t afford to do that against the Indianapolis Colts at home. This is a must-win game, as early into the season as they have had in a long time.
The Chiefs need their best offensive game plan on Sunday
The offense has gone stale, and you can make the case that it’s one of the biggest issues facing this team. The biggest may be how much this team looks like they are just going through the motions all the time, and not ever playing with that fire they used to have. That’s what being in a dynasty will do to you mentally, I guess.
They need something different; they need a fire lit under them. At the same time, though, Nagy is right. Fans won’t want to hear what he is saying because it’s the coach-speak type of thing, but the reality is, there is no other team more built to come back from something like this.
Chiefs’ remaining schedule in 2025

- Week 15: vs. Los Angeles Chargers – Sunday, Dec. 14 at Noon CT on CBS

The dynasty has won so much – 17 playoff games and three Super Bowls to be exact. They have played an entire season in just playoff games alone, as the dynasty has reached the AFC Championship every year with Mahomes as the starter and has gone to a Super Bowl five times. They know how to pull themselves out of it.
The biggest question now is whether they even want to. On Sunday against the Broncos, they didn’t look like a team that wanted to win. This next game against the Colts should tell a lot about the type of team they are in 2025.
