One of the Tennessee Vols’ top remaining 2026 recruiting targets is four-star edge rusher Jordan Carter.

Carter, 6-foot-3/245 lbs from Douglasville, GA, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 23 edge rusher in the nation and the No. 22 player in the state of Georgia.

The four-star recruit took an unofficial visit to Tennessee for the Oklahoma game earlier this month. He also recently took an official visit to Tennessee for the New Mexico State game.

Georgia Tech is “surging” for Jordan Carter

Carter hasn’t made a decision yet, but On3’s Chad Simmons noted on Tuesday that Georgia Tech has “surged to the front” of this recruiting battle.

“With each visit, the outlook for Jordan Carter continues to shift,” wrote Simmons. “A little over a week ago, after his official visit to Tennessee, the Vols held the momentum for the four-star edge out of Georgia. But following this weekend’s official visit to Georgia Tech, the hometown program has surged to the front. As things stand, those two schools appear poised to battle it out until Signing Day.”

The early signing period is set to begin on December 3.

Carter, who was previously committed to Texas A&M, is scheduled to take an official visit to Auburn for the Iron Bowl this weekend.
