Oklahoma Sooners are using all of the momentum they have to work a similar flip they've already made this season

The Oklahoma Sooners are one win away from the College Football Playoff; all they have to do is handle business at home against the LSU Tigers. The season they are having is working in their favor so much for recruiting. As the season has gone on and the team has won more games, recruiting has heated up, whether it’s been flipping recruits or landing straight-up commitments.

They’ve already flipped one Tulane commitment this cycle in wide receiver Brayden Allen. Now, they’re trying to flip their second Tulane commitment in 2026, OL Noah Abebe.

“It’s been great,” Abebe told Rivals. “I’ve talked to a couple of people on the staff, and they have all told me that this program is a family and that I would be a great addition to it.”

Sooners like what they see from three-star OL Noah Abebe

Just because Abebe is a three-star doesn’t mean the Sooners won’t take a look at him. Their history of developing players like Taylor Wein, Jayden Jackson, and Courtland Guillory shows they value potential, making Abebe a key target in their broader recruiting plan.

And Abebe really likes the Sooners, too, which adds to the sense of optimism and excitement among supporters about landing this promising recruit.

“I mean, just take a look at how many people he’s put in the NFL,” Abebe said of Sooners OL coach Bill Bedenbaugh. “I’m ready to see how he coaches in person.”

The Sooners flipped Allen, an in-state kid for Tulane, like it was nothing. This would be very similar to that. Sure, Abebe is from Friendswood, Texas, but that is just outside the Houston area, which is pretty close to Louisiana. Honestly, Tulane is much closer to home for him than Oklahoma is.

Flipping Abebe would be a major win for the Sooners, similar to how they secured Allen.

“They started recruiting me pretty hard three weeks ago,” Abebe said. “The thing I’m most excited about is definitely seeing the difference between the SEC and the rest of the conferences.”

He’s not flipped yet, but they are definitely pushing hard to land him. The Sooners love what they see.
