Bills’ Josh Allen made history without playing a single snap, and it put him ahead of one of the greatest to ever play the game
Hats off to No. 17.
The Buffalo Bills have a unicorn in quarterback Josh Allen. Before playing a single snap in the NFL, Allen was written off. He was told that his accuracy issues couldn’t be fixed and that the team would need to outsmart basically all regular humans and the entirety of math itself for him to be successful.
Fast forward to 2025, Allen is coming off an MVP season and is one of the best quarterbacks in the entire league. The reigning MVP has smashed records left and right and has established himself as one of the greatest dual-threat quarterbacks in the history of the sport.
Buffalo Bills PR shared some more record-breaking information for Allen. Without playing a single snap in Week 14, he made history once again. Currently in his eighth season, Allen has the most total touchdowns by a player in their first nine seasons. He surpassed Russell Wilson and the legendary Peyton Manning in the accomplishment. Entering Sunday, Allen has 291 career touchdowns.
What’s more, Allen needs 779 yards in the last five games to establish a new NFL record for the most passing yards by a player in their first eight seasons. He’s behind only Manning and Patrick Mahomes for that honor.
Josh Allen is one of one in the NFL
Allen has embraced the city of Buffalo since he arrived, and has been a saving grace for fans who survived the dreaded drought years. It cannot be overstated just how important Allen has been to the success of the team, often putting on his Superman cape and doing unthinkable things on the field.
Allen is cementing himself in the NFL record books. Just last week against the Steelers, Allen passed Cam Newton for the most rushing touchdowns by a quarterback in the regular season in NFL history. When it’s all said and done, Allen very well could break every franchise record in Bills history, passing and rushing, and pass the legendary Jim Kelly as the best quarterback to ever don a Bills jersey.
For now, we’ll just enjoy the fact that Allen is surpassing players like Manning, Tom Brady, Mahomes, and countless others with his accolades. Though Allen has said on countless occasions he would trade every single individual accolade for a Super Bowl, and we believe him wholeheartedly.
One of the best to ever do it, we’re just grateful he’s a member of the Buffalo Bills. To really cement his spot in NFL history, the only thing remaining is winning the Super Bowl. Allen has talked at great length about what a Super Bowl parade in Buffalo would be, and fans are hoping that he’s the one who can finally bring the championship to Buffalo for the first time.
Bills Mafia is witnessing a once-in-a-lifetime talent in real time. Let’s just enjoy every moment of it.
