The Philadelphia Eagles have lost three games in a row. Every piece of the team has its flaws, but a new wound was found during their latest loss to the Los Angeles Chargers. Amid an awful performance from quarterback Jalen Hurts, a special teams issue is now on the radar for Philly as well.

Eagles may need to address future at kicker as Jake Elliott struggles

The Eagles veteran kicker has now missed five field goal attempts and one PAT in the last seven games. It is three straight games with a miss for the experienced boot, and the latest one was an attempt he usually makes from 48 yards out.

Elliott did nail the go-ahead kick to give the Eagles the lead in the fourth quarter, though, so he does deserve some credit there. That being said, his earlier miss was part of the reason why the Eagles needed him to hit on this attempt in order to give them a lead of any sort.

For Philly, Elliott has been a franchise staple in recent seasons, and it would not be easy to find an upgrade at this point of the season. As the regular season winds down, there are not a multitude of proven options on the kicking market. With that, sticking it out for the remainder of the season with the veteran may just make the most sense.

Only time will tell. Regardless, the Eagles need him to be a bit more consistent as the postseason looms ahead for their squad.
