Taylor Wein is ready for the Oklahoma Sooners to host the Alabama Crimson Tide this weekend in a College Football Playoff game. He’s not worried about anything else, other than playing football and being the best player he can be. Wein is certainly not worried about music.

“I’m here to play football. I’m not a DJ,” Wein told reporters when asked what he thinks about the stadium music and what type of songs he would like to hear during the game on Friday.

Wein is just built a bit differently. His mindset is in the right place, and he’s ready to ball.

Wein is already thinking about a win over Alabama

When it comes to some of the biggest “dawgs,” as the kids say, on the Sooners, Wein is right up there with the best of them. His mindset is set on beating Alabama, and he’s already trying to manifest that.

“For me, the first round of the playoffs was four [games] ago,” Wein told reporters earlier in the week. “This is just another game. We knew that if we lost, it was going to ruin a lot of our goals. So our mentality is, we’re not going to lose. We’re going to figure out a way to win. We need to play our best ball. And when we do play at a really high level, it’s really hard to beat us. So for us, yeah, it’s just another game. We gotta go 1-0.”

Oklahoma will need everyone locked in on Friday, not worried about the music that is playing in the stadium. If that music helps them get in a better headspace, then so be it. However, this is the biggest game of their careers.

Wein is one of the tone setters on the best defense in the country. He does all of the dirty work, like taking on double teams, playing aggressively in the run game, always going 100 miles per hour, and even making plays on special teams. If there was an MVP of the season so far, it’s probably Wein.

He doesn’t mess around when it comes to football, as he’s made it very well known.
