One key detail about the Sooners’ 2025 season is going to be forgotten about after loss to Alabama
The Sooners had a successful 2025 season.
The Oklahoma Sooners’ 2025 season is over, and while all of you don’t really want to read that at the moment, it’s important to remember how far you’ve come. Yes, the College Football Playoff loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide sucks. It doesn’t feel good at all. However, think about where this team was this time last season.
Oklahoma was getting ready to lose to Navy in the Armed Forces Bowl. Now, they have found themselves in the College Football playoff in just their second season in the SEC. It’s important to take this moment to appreciate the season they just played, even if it’s hard with this ugly loss.
Be proud of your team, Sooners fans.
Brent Venables is proud of the Oklahoma Sooners after a magical 2025 season
“This doesn’t take away from the pride I have for the group of seniors, and guys that won’t be here in the future,” head coach Brent Venables told reporters directly after the game. “I couldn’t be prouder of them and the deposit they chose to make in an environment where everyone is trying to get theirs.
“This is a group of guys who chose not to take a withdrawal but to make a deposit. Leave your mark and do what we need to do to elevate this program and move forward. Couldn’t be more thankful and proud for that group of guys and the ones that are returning.”
The best part about this is that the Sooners are only supposed to be even better next season. They have some veteran guys, sure, but this year we got to see how good Oklahoma’s depth really is. Some of these young guys who got some real big snaps are going to be amazing football players.
Not to mention, the recruiting class that the Sooners have coming in is going to be awesome. And they have the No. 1 2027 class, to make things only better there, too. Big things are ahead for the Sooners, and this loss will only make them better.
