The Pro Bowl roster has been set, with more than one name from the Buffalo Bills joining the festivities. Quarterback Josh Allen, running back James Cook, and offensive tackle Dion Dawkins were all named as AFC selections for the games. It’s an exciting update, and the players deserve their recognition for the work they put in this season.

That’s not to say it was all good news coming from the official announcement. One player in particular has the Bills Mafia up in arms, as fullback Reggie Gilliam was not named as a selection at his position. Instead, fans, coaches, and others voted for Baltimore Ravens fullback Patrick Ricard.

Reggie Gilliam was a huge Pro Bowl snub in 2025

While many might say it’s just the Pro Bowl, Gilliam’s play this season deserves some recognition on the national level. One Bills star in particular is taking offense to the decision — none other than the longest-tenured member of the Bills and the team’s long-snapper, Reid Ferguson.

“Direct correlation between voting and who gets talked about on national TV shows,” Ferguson said. “Happens every year. If you know ball, Reggie is #1.”

This is in direct response to Buffalo Bills sideline reporter Sal Capaccio.

“For what Reggie Gilliam has meant to the Bills top rushing offense in the NFL, being passed over for the Pro Bowl for a guy who played only nine games is ridiculous,” Capaccio wrote. “I don’t normally care for these sorts of things, but some guys deserve recognition they don’t normally get.

Bills lead the NFL in rushing yards per game

Gilliam is one of the most talented players on the roster and a force in the run blocking game. It’s thanks in large part to his efforts that the team is currently leading the NFL in rushing yards per game at 158.9. Of course, the offensive line and tight ends, along with the receivers, deserve their flowers for their efforts in the running game as well.

According to Pro Football Focus, Gilliam has a 72 overall grade for his run blocking abilities, appearing with 56 run blocks happening in zone, and 69 while in the gap. He’s having his second-best season in terms of overall grade, only scoring higher in the 2021 season for Buffalo.

At the end of the day, Pro Bowl votes won’t define Gilliam’s impact, but they do highlight who is getting the spotlight. For the Bills, that spotlight has often shined on the stars who touch the ball. Gilliam does the work in the margins, paving the way for one of the league’s most dominant rushing attacks. Even without the Pro Bowl nod, his value to Buffalo is obvious every Sunday, and that’s the recognition that matters most inside One Bills Drive.
