Aaron Hayden did some great things as a member of the Tennessee Volunteers during the 1990s. The former running back played for Tennessee from 1991-94, when he totaled 2061 rushing yards and 12 rushing scores during his four years. He had two second-half touchdowns in the Vols’ legendary 35-34 comeback win over Notre Dame in November of 1991. He would go on to a four-year NFL career with San Diego, Green Bay, and Philadelphia.

Naturally, when his son, Dallan, reached the college ranks, some Tennessee fans pulled for him to follow his father’s footsteps and head to Knoxville. That didn’t happen out of high school, as he chose the Ohio State Buckeyes. Two years later, Dallan entered the transfer portal and ended up playing for Deion Sanders at Colorado.

Now, with one year of eligibility remaining, Dallan is hitting the transfer portal for a second time, according to On3 Sports’ Hayes Fawcett.

Dallan Hayden transferring from Colorado

Hayden’s best season came his freshman year at Ohio State, when he totaled 553 rushing yards and five touchdowns for the Buckeyes. In two seasons at Colorado, he tallied a combined 522 rushing yards and two scores.

The Tennessee Volunteers just so happen to potentially be in the market for another running back, with Peyton Lewis heading to the transfer portal. As such, could the Vols finally reunite with the son of the former Vol? Well, the senior Hayden was outspoken after Dallan’s transfer to Colorado, particularly regarding the “haters.”

It’s also unclear whether Tennessee had any interest then or would have any interest now. We’ll find out in the coming days where Dallan ultimately ends up, but don’t expect him to finish his career where his father starred.
