This weekend’s Philadelphia Eagles-Buffalo Bills matchup was a heavyweight battle in a rainy environment that certainly affected both offenses. For the Eagles, their defense simply came up with enough timely plays to pull their offense off the hook for a second half debacle. With the win, the Eagles got a last laugh in more ways than one over Bills quarterback Josh Allen and his team.

Eagles snap home winning streak for Josh Allen and Bills

Via Ed Kracz, the Eagles victory in Week 17 ended a streak of twelve straight regular season games that Josh Allens’ Bill sown at home in December and January. That stretch had lasted since 2021. The environment and fan support for Buffalo has helped them play a ton of good football in front of their own fans in recent years.

Clearly, Buffalo’s dominance on their home field has been a difference maker over the past few seasons. Now, they will look to prove they can win on the road in this year’s postseason because they’ll be away from home often if they want to make a deep run.

Eagles remain the only team that Josh Allen hasn’t beaten

Philadelphia is also the only team that Allen hasn’t come out victorious against during his NFL career so far. The former MVP and superstar talent has consistently taken care of business against every team outside of the Eagles. Philly is probably hoping they see the Bills one more time this season and keep that streak going once again, too.

The Eagles also ended any potential of the Bills winning their sixth straight AFC East title. With Buffalo’s loss, the New England Patriots clinched the division crown, while Philadelphia had already clinched the NFC East prior to this Week 17 clash.

The Eagles await some other outcomes to understand how important Week 18 will be for them when it comes to playoff seeding in the NFC.
