The Philadelphia Eagles preseason is officially over. We have been projecting what the final roster would look like after the last few weeks, but today, we are going to predict how the final 53-man unit will look when the ball is spotted in Week 1.
Training camp and the preseason were full of quotes and storylines surrounding Jalen Hurts, new offensive personnel, and under-the-radar weapons, but what about the unsung heroes and bubble players? Here’s a look at who will make it in our opinion.
Eagles 2026 preseason
- Week 1: @ Baltimore Ravens (24-7 L)
- Week 2: @ New England Patriots (21-24, L)
- Week 3: vs. Cincinnati Bengals (30-13, L)

Offense (25)
Quarterback
IN (3): Jalen Hurts, Andy Dalton, Cole Payton
OUT: Tanner McKee
McKee’s poor finale (12-of-22, 55 yards, INT) after a mixed summer makes him the odd man out if they keep only three. Dalton has more trade value and showed more in the finale; Payton is a 2026 fifth-rounder they won’t want to expose to waivers. Keeping all four is possible if no trade materializes.
Running back
IN (3): Saquon Barkley, Tank Bigsby, Will Shipley
OUT: Carson Steele, Dameon Pierce, Jordan Mims
The top three have been locks all summer. Steele (TD catch Friday, plus receiving/FB versatility) and Pierce belong on the practice squad. Mims is a late addition and a cut.
Already IR: Ja’Quinden Jackson
Wide receiver
IN (5): DeVonta Smith, Dontayvion Wicks, Makai Lemon, Marquise “Hollywood” Brown, Darius Cooper
OUT: Elijah Moore, Britain Covey, Quez Watkins, Danny Gray, Samori Toure, Erik Ezukanma, Tahj Washington
Smith/Wicks/Lemon are the core. Brown and Cooper won the last two spots over Moore (solid camp, little ST value) and Covey (returner, but Lemon/DeJean can cover that). The rest are practice-squad or cut candidates.
Already IR: Johnny Wilson
Tight end
IN (4): Dallas Goedert, Johnny Mundt, Cameron Latu, Grant Calcaterra
OUT: E.J. Jenkins, Stone Smartt
IR-return candidate: Eli Stowers (hamstring; second-round project who struggled as receiver/blocker)
Mundt’s run-game value keeps him. Latu and Calcaterra are the developmental/ST pieces. Stowers can be stashed on IR without burning a 53-man spot.
Offensive line
IN (10): Jordan Mailata, Landon Dickerson, Cam Jurgens, Tyler Steen, Lane Johnson, Markel Bell, Drew Kendall, Willie Lampkin, Fred Johnson, Micah Morris
OUT: Jake Majors, John Ojukwu, Cameron Williams, Myles Hinton, Michael Jordan, Zeke Correll
Starters plus Bell (rookie tackle), Kendall, Lampkin, swing-tackle Fred Johnson, and developmental Morris. Roseman almost always goes 9–10 here. Majors slipped late; Ojukwu/Williams are typical PS stashes; Hinton, Jordan, and Correll are the cleanest cuts.
Defense (25)
Interior defensive line
IN (6): Jalen Carter, Jordan Davis, Moro Ojomo, Byron Young, Ty Robinson, Uar Bernard
OUT: Gabe Hall, Zion Wilson, David Blay Jr.
Carter/Davis/Ojomo are the rotation core. Young and Robinson earned spots. Bernard (IPP, drafted as a long-term project) has shown enough improvement to keep. Wilson got UDFA money and had a decent summer — closest cut, likely PS.
Edge / outside linebacker
IN (5): Nolan Smith, Jalyx Hunt, A.J. Epenesa, Arnold Ebiketie, Josh Weru
OUT: Jose Ramirez, Tarron Jackson, Keyshawn James-Newby
Reserve/PUP (does not count vs. 53): Jonathan Greenard (pec; not ready for Week 1)
Hunt and Smith are the young foundation. Epenesa and Ebiketie are veteran depth. Weru (raw traits, IPP-adjacent risk of being claimed) gets the last spot over James-Newby (injured most of camp) and the veteran pass-rushers.
Inside linebacker
IN (5): Zack Baun, Jihaad Campbell, Jeremiah Trotter Jr., Smael Mondon Jr., Chance Campbell
OUT: Brandon George, Deontae Lawson
Fangio has publicly praised this group’s depth and specifically Chance Campbell. Those five are the consensus.
Cornerback
IN (6): Quinyon Mitchell, Cooper DeJean, Riq Woolen, Kelee Ringo, Jonathan Jones, Mac McWilliams
OUT: Jakorian Bennett, Isaiah Bolden, Ambry Thomas, Shaun Wade, Kapena Gushiken
Mitchell/DeJean/Woolen are locks. Ringo has shown growth. Jones is a veteran who can start on IR after making the 53 if needed. McWilliams has Fangio’s endorsement.
Safety
IN (3): Andrew Mukuba, Marcus Epps, Michael Carter II
OUT: Andre’ Sam, Cole Wisniewski, Maximus Pulley, Jaylen Mahoney
DeJean’s ability to play safety gives them extra flexibility. Sam left Friday with a foot injury that looked serious. Wisniewski is an IR-return candidate in some projections.
Already NFI/IR: Tucker Large, Tariq Castro-Fields
Special teams (3)
IN (3): Jake Elliott (K), Braden Mann (P), Rocco Underwood (LS)
Elliott and Mann are locks. Underwood improved enough late that grabbing a waiver LS is less certain than it looked in July.
