The Browns just made the Lions’ final game a little more interesting by poaching one of their starters away

That ends that experiment for the Lions.

The Detroit Lions have just one game left on Sunday, and they need to think about who will play center in Week 18 because the Cleveland Browns just poached the guy who’s been starting the last two weeks.

Browns poach Kingsley Eguakun off the Lions’ practice squad

Eguakun started at center in the last two weeks for the Lions with mixed results. His game against the Steelers was pretty good, but he struggled mightily against the Vikings on Christmas Day and had two fumbles with bad snaps. At this point, his future with the Lions was kind of up in the air. Had he balled out on Christmas, he could have maybe had a chance to earn a roster spot and who knows what else. Now, I’m not so sure he would have been here in 2026 anyway.

As for Week 18, starting Graham Glasgow makes the most sense, but can he play right now? He’s been dealing with a knee injury, and that injury held him out in Week 17. There’s some belief that this could be his final NFL game, so maybe he pushes it one more time.

If it’s not him, Michael Niese is who the Lions have been working with at center here and there since last summer. He could be in line for his first career NFL start. We’ll see how practices go this week.
