And we are off! After two months of preparations, the Miami Dolphins have lived up to the reports that suggested they wanted to act quickly in their search for a new general manager. Miami, with interim general manager Champ Kelly bringing them down the home stretch of the 2025 season, has sent out their first series of interview requests.

There’s been a steady trickle of reports on which NFL executives the Dolphins have requested for their preliminary round of interviews. Here’s who has a request reported thus far.

It is expected that Kelly, who has served as the Dolphins’ interim general manager since Halloween, is going to get a formal interview for the position as well. The external candidates all come with high levels of respect — and these are the kinds of programs you should not be surprised to hear are producing pipeline candidates. The Rams, Eagles, 49ers, and Packers are all staples in the postseason picture and offer models of consistent success that any NFL team would be foolish to take for granted.

Are there more interviews to come? Time will tell. But for now, this serves as a good starting point for Miami’s search. They’re off and running.

Other prominent general manager candidates the Dolphins may request

  • Ray Agnew, Detroit Lions
  • Andy Weidl, Pittsburgh Steelers
  • Ian Cunningham, Chicago Bears
  • Chad Alexander, Los Angeles Chargers
