Former Cincinnati Bengals tight end Hayden Hurst revealed his newborn son, Nolan, is going home with his wife, Brooke, after spending 62 days in the NICU at Wolfson Children’s Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.

“My wife and I cannot begin to express our gratitude towards all the doctors, nurses and staff that helped us and took care of our son for these last 2 months,” Hurst stated in a post on X/Twitter.

Nolan was in NICU for the past two months due to holes in his lungs. He was born 10 weeks early on Nov. 16 at just three pounds and seven ounces, according to an Instagram post from Brooke. He leaves Wolfson Children’s at a healthy seven pounds, 13 ounces.

It’s the greatest news a father and his family could ever receive. The Hursts were married last year, and their firstborn child is healthy and coming home.

Remembering Hayden Hurst’s brief stint with Bengals

Cincinnati signed Hurst following in the 2022 offseason, fresh off its 2021 run to the Super Bowl. The former first-round pick from the 2018 NFL Draft inked a one-year, $3.5 million contract to replace C.J. Uzomah, who left to sign a three-year, $24 million deal the same offseason.

Hurst proved quite valuable for the Bengals playing on that contract. He caught 52 passes for 414 yards and two touchdowns in 13 regular season games. He caught an additional 13 receptions for 141 yards and a touchdown in three playoff games.

Like Uzomah, Hurst capitalized on his time in Cincy and signed a three-year, $21 million deal with the Carolina Panthers. His stint in Carolina only lasted nine games as he missed the second-half of the 2023 season due to a concussion. The Panthers released him in 2024, but he earned the $13 million guaranteed to him from the club.

Hurst last played for the Los Angeles Chargers in 2024. He appeared in nine games and caught eight passes for 73 yards.
