Come on, man.

It was totally a catch, and the Buffalo Bills should be playing in the AFC Championship on Sunday. But they’re not, and the team’s season ended with a controversial and devastating loss to the Denver Broncos in the divisional round.

Quarterback Josh Allen wasn’t perfect, having four turnovers in the matchup. While he wasn’t perfect, he still managed to have 349 yards of total offense with three touchdowns. He helped the team fight and claw its way back into the game, forcing it into overtime. That’s when the controversial catch heard around the world came in, with Denver getting the ball back and kicking a game-winning field goal. Thanks, in part, to two defensive pass interference calls on Buffalo in the closing moments.

Josh Allen was disrespected by the Pro Football Hall of Fame

Another season ended, falling short of the ultimate goal of winning the Super Bowl. Allen, rightfully so, was emotional after the game. He put everything he had into the matchup and once again was on the losing end. His postgame press conference quickly went viral with the quarterback wearing his emotions on his sleeve.

No. 17 never could have expected getting thrown some shade from the Pro Football Hall of Fame.

The official X account posted a few images that were supposed to be highlights from the divisional round. An image of New England Patriots receiver Kayshon Boutte extending to try and make a catch, Los Angeles Rams Kyren Williams leaping sky high into the end zone, Seahawks wide receiver Rashid Shaheed jogging into the end zone on the explosive opening kick return, and Josh Allen crying?

Allen’s reaction was the raw aftermath of a season ending in the most painful way possible.

“I let my teammates down tonight [ . . . ] Just missed opportunities throughout the game, Allen said. “It’s been a long season, hate how it ended. It’s going to stick with me for a long time [ . . . ] Can’t win with five turnovers. I fumbled twice, threw two picks, you shoot yourself in the foot like that, you don’t deserve to win football games.”

The Bills Mafia has had quite the week

Seriously, Allen crying was the photo that they decided? Whatever social media intern is running the account must not like Buffalo much. There were plenty of other moments from the games that took place that they could have used instead. But Josh Allen crying?

It’s kicking the team and the fanbase when they’re down, if you ask me.

At a time when Buffalo was still processing losing their head coach and another gut-wrenching ending, the choice felt unnecessary. There was no contest, no explanation, just an image stripped of everything that led to the moment. For a quarterback who gave everything he had, it missed the mark.

At the end of the day, it’s still just a photo on the internet that will forever be forgotten, but in this moment alone, I am upset for the city, the fans, and Allen himself.
