The Green Bay Packers need cornerbacks, they love Georgia defensive players, and a Georgia cornerback was there when the Packers had to make a selection with the 53th overall pick in the latest A to Z Sports’ three-round mock draft.

Travis May, Kyle Crabbs, and Josh Taylor, who are part of our draft team at A to Z Sports, published their three-round mock earlier this week. Because the Packers don’t have a first-rounder, they appeared in the mock just twice, and used both picks to select cornerbacks.

The Packers got Georgia cornerback Daylen Everette with the 53rd pick and Ohio State cornerback Davison Igbinosun with the 84th.

Second round, Pick 53: Daylen Everette, CB, Georgia

Everette has elite straight-line speed, which is always an important trait for cornerbacks, even though his ability to cut or change directions isn’t nearly as impressive. He has the wingspan and hand usage to challenge receivers.

In his final season at Georgia, he allowed a 95.5 passer rating when targeted (converting to NFL numbers) and had four pass breakups. Targeted 53 times, he allowed 30 receptions.

His ability in run support is a big plus. Igbinosun also has long speed, but he moves better laterally. He lacks ability to track the ball and isn’t ready to play much man coverage, with a tendency to hold the wide receiver.

His numbers in 2025 were impressive, allowing a 43.4 passer rating when targeted, including an interception and five pass breakups. He gave up only 39 yards after the catch.

Right now, the Packers’ cornerback room only has Keisean Nixon, Nate Hobbs, Carrington Valentine, Jaylin Simpson, Shemar Bartholomew, and Tyron Herring. The group obviously needs more answers and possibilities, and general manager Brian Gutekunst hasn’t shied away from taking multiple players at the same position in a class — this might be the perfect class to do so with Day 2 cornerbacks.
