The Philadelphia Eagles will watch the New England Patriots battle the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl LX. With that, it is always worth keeping an eye on former Philly players who could play a role in deciding the winner.

A recent report has altered how many Eagles will be involved in the Patriots’ preparation process, at the very least.

Patrick Johnson can become two-time Super Bowl champion with Patriots

The former Eagles linebacker has joined the Patriots’ practice squad. Johnson spent time on the practice squad and the 53-man roster for Philadelphia this season. He was drafted by the Eagles in the seventh round of the 2021 NFL Draft from Tulane.

The defender was a depth piece of the Eagles’ Super Bowl LVII team, so he is looking to get his second ring of his pro career so far. That would be awesome for the former Philly LB.

Johnson shouldn’t be expected to make a massive impact in the Super Bowl, and he may not even get elevated to the active roster. That said, the Patriots could pull him up to the game-day roster to have another pass-rushing option to get after Seahawks QB Sam Darnold.

Darnold has struggled when under pressure at times this season, and his play under duress was a major reason his Minnesota Vikings were defeated in last year’s postseason.

However, Johnson and other Patriots pass rushers will have to deal with one of the top offensive line units in football, led by newly-extended OT Charles Cross.
