The Buffalo Bills and wide receiver Keon Coleman have a strained relationship, from the second-year player facing disciplinary action on more than one occasion during the 2025 season, to him being listed as a healthy scratch, also on more than one occasion. It’s not looking good for Coleman.

Pair that with the disastrous press conference from owner Terry Pegula, where he threw former head coach Sean McDermott and the rest of the coaching staff under the bus for selecting Coleman, and it’s been a rough stretch for the pass-catcher.

A very real possibility is that we’ve seen the last of Coleman as a member of the Buffalo Bills. Bill Barnwell from ESPN shared an update regarding the 2026 NFL offseason wide receiver market updates and has floated Coleman as a potential trade candidate. Again, there’s a very real possibility that Coleman has played his last snaps as a member of the Buffalo Bills.

Barnwell brought up a few trades in the past that could be in the market for what Buffalo could get out of Coleman, despite both his on and off-field issues.

“The Commanders received a third-round pick (and moved a fifth-rounder) when they sent Jahan Dotson to the Eagles, while the Cowboys sent a fourth-round pick to the Panthers for Jonathan Mingo and a seventh-round selection,” Barnwell wrote. “The Bills should be able to get something in line with the latter price for Coleman, with teams betting they can get more out of his size and contested-catch ability than Buffalo.”

Keon Coleman and a seventh for a fourth-round pick, who says no?

General manager Brandon Beane and new head coach Joe Brady should be picking up the phones to see what suitor would be willing to part ways for a fourth-round pick for Coleman’s services. Surely, there are plenty of teams in the league that would be willing to take a flier out. That, and it would only cost Buffalo sending their seventh-round pick over in return? Sign me up all day for that.

There was a lot of hype for Coleman entering the 2025 season, with players like offensive tackle Dion Dawkins claiming that the league better get ready. Outside of a stellar Week 1 performance against the Baltimore Ravens, where Coleman had over 100 yards receiving, he hasn’t topped 50 yards in a game since. A far cry from what the Bills Mafia was hoping heading into the season.

The second-year pass-catcher only managed to haul in 59 catches for 404 yards and four touchdowns.

A fresh start might be the best thing for both sides at this point. Buffalo can recoup some draft capital, clear the noise around a clearly tense situation, and give Brady more flexibility as he reshapes the offense. Coleman, meanwhile, would get a chance to reboot his career somewhere without the baggage that’s followed him through his first two seasons, even if it’s self-inflicted baggage.

At this point, it feels less like a question of if the Bills move on, and more of a question of when. If a fourth-round pick is truly on the table, Brandon Beane may decide it’s time to turn the page and let a once-promising experiment officially come to an end in Buffalo.
