Seahawks absorb Super Bowl injury blow yet feel prepared as roster depth limits the damage of the loss
Fullback Robbie Ouzts was listed as questionable.
The Seattle Seahawks know the 48 men who will be responsible for trying to bring the Lombardi Trophy back to the franchise. Ninety minutes before Super Bowl LX, the Seahawks released the inactive list.
The big question was in regards to fullback Robbie Ouzts, who was listed as questionable to play due to a neck injury. He’s officially inactive to play against the New England Patriots.
A rookie fifth-round pick, Ouzts made the 53-man roster, but missed part of the season with an ankle injury. Mostly a blocker, the rookie played 203 snaps on offense (19%) and 56 snaps on special teams (12%) throughout the regular season. Ouzts also played 10 snaps on offense and three on special teams in the divisional round win over the San Francisco 49ers, but missed the NFC Championship Game due to his injury.
The Seahawks are a rare case in today’s NFL with two fullbacks on the 53-man roster. In addition to Ouzts, veteran Brady Russell is also on the team, which lessens the blow.

Relief for the Seahawks
It was an eventful week for the Seahawks injury-wise, but the outcome is as positive as it could have been. Safety Nick Emmanwori suffered a low-ankle sprain at practice, but was able to participate at full on Friday and had no injury designation. He’s officially active and will play, even though it’s uncertain how much his injury will affect his snapcounts or overall performance.
Tackle Charles Cross had to deal with a foot injury throughout the Super Bowl week as well, but he’s also available for the game.
Without Zach Charbonnet, who tore his ACL during the playoffs, the Seahawks elevated two running backs from the practice squad for gameday — Velus Jones Jr. and Cam Akers. They offer depth behind Kenneth Walker III and George Holani.
