It’s time to re-up on the skill group in San Francisco.

The San Francisco 49ers have to feel good about their bounce-back effort in 2025.

It may feel like a hollow victory, but to endure the injuries and the salary cap restrictions that came through the 49ers’ camp this season and still come away with 12 wins and a playoff win are no small feats. The challenge from here? Dethroning the Seahawks and making a deep postseason run in 2026. The annual NFL Draft will be a major key. So how do the 49ers break through? Here’s a 2026 7-round NFL mock draft to explore how they can re-tool the roster.

Round 1, pick 27 – Kenyon Sadiq, TE, Oregon

George Kittle will be a 32-year-old tight end coming off an Achilles tear next fall. He turns 33 in October. All of that, plus the multi-tight end trends across the NFL right now, make Sadiq a fascinating potential pick in San Francisco. He’s a monster blocker, does well connecting to defenders in space, and is a big-time run-after-catch threat to boot. All things considered, this could be a perfect pairing to make San Francisco even more challenging to defend.

Round 2, pick 58 – Romello Height, EDGE, Texas Tech

The pass rush unit could use a little more juice. Injuries sapped that element of the roster in 2025, but then again, you also can never really have enough pass rushers in general. Romello Height is an older prospect, but the film is that of a top-40 player in this class. He’s refined rushing the passer, has good diversity in his attacks, and would be a welcomed rush specialist to complement Nick Bosa and 2025 first-round draft choice Mykel Williams.

Round 3, pick 92 – Ted Hurst, WR, Georgia State

Brandon Aiyuk? It was nice knowing you. Jauan Jennings? Set for free agency. It’s time to start putting more resources beyond Ricky Pearsall to this group. Hurst has the big-bodied frame of a Shanahan receiver and has an aggressiveness at the catch point that is easy to like. I think he would fit right in with the 49ers and be a key role player for the team from the jump.

Round 4, pick 127 – Beau Stephens, OG, Iowa

The depth of the 49ers’ offensive line is going to be a key point of emphasis I’d like to see them proactively address. Spencer Burford, Ben Bartch, Matt Hennessey? All expiring contracts. As the 49ers found out last season with Conner Colby, the Iowa offensive scheme grooms linemen well for the outside zone. Stephens could be a player well-prepared for action despite his draft stock for this system.

Round 4, pick 133 – Julian Neal, CB, Arkansas

Upton Stout? A huge success. Marques Sigle has promise as a hybrid defender, as well. The depth at the outside corner? Well, that’s another story. Deommodore Lenoir holds down one perimeter spot, and young cornerback Renardo Green and Darrell Luter Jr. are in play — more competition would be helpful here.

Round 4, pick 138 – J’Mari Taylor, RB, Virginia

Another running back picked on Day 3? This would be three in three seasons for the 49ers after drafting Isaac Guerendo and Jordan James the last two springs. The presence of both was so inspiring, the 49ers still traded for Brian Robinson Jr. in the summer — and he’s now an expiring contract. The whole offense runs through the run game; having Taylor competing for a role should keep the fire lit under this group behind Christian McCaffrey.

Round 5, pick 171 – Max Llewellyn, EDGE, Iowa

Did we mention the pass rush unit in San Francisco was a sore spot? Expecting Llewellyn to come in and fix the problems is unfair. But with Bosa hopefully healthy, a second year for Mykel Williams, the previously drafted Romello Height, Bryce Huff, and the other players in this room? Hopefully we can just avoid having the same conversation next year.
