Cleveland Browns make significant offensive signing to make life easier on new HC Todd Monken calling plays in free agency mock draft
The Browns make a big signing in first free agency mock draft ahead of March.
The Cleveland Browns have a crucial offseason ahead where they have to make major changes on the offensive side of the ball after going 5-12 in 2025.
Bringing in Todd Monken as the head coach was just the first part of an offensive overhaul for Cleveland. The Browns are going to have an offensive roster overhaul as well, which will bring them new playmakers and offensive line talent.
Here at A to Z Sports, we released a recent free agency mock draft for all 32 teams making a signing. The Browns got better on offense with a new wide receiver in this exercise.
Browns land WR Romeo Doubs in free agent mock draft
I had the Browns sign current Green Bay Packers WR Romeo Doubs to a three-year contract worth $45 million with $24 million guaranteed. Doubs gives the Browns a proven wide receiver to add to the roster who would have been their leading receiver at the position in 2025 with 724 receiving yards.
It must be noted the Browns picked No. 21 here in the draft order for projected available cap space. The order went off of cap space from most available to least available.
The Browns have some restructures to make happen to get cap space to operate in free agency. Cleveland can save north of $35 million in cap space with a restructure of QB Deshaun Watson’s contract this offseason.
Doubs has cleared 600 yards receiving in each of the last three seasons with 18 touchdowns during that time. Doubs has especially been a security blanket for Packers QB Jordan Love in the red zone. The 6-foot-2, 204-pound wideout would set a firm ground at WR2/3 for the Browns while they still search for their clear-cut WR1.
Offensive line and wide receiver are two areas Cleveland has to hit hard in free agency and the draft. With free agency coming before the draft, signing Doubs would give Cleveland a proven player to add to the room.
There are no sure locks on who is sticking around in Cleveland’s wide receiver room for the 2026 season. Get ready for some change coming there.
