Former Ohio State WR Mylan Graham wasted no time in taking a subtle shot at the Buckeyes after joining Notre Dame from the transfer portal

The Ohio State Buckeyes underwent plenty of change through the transfer portal, especially at the wide receiver position.

Ohio State brought back superstar WR Jeremiah Smith and senior Brandon Inniss, but the position will look much different beyond those two.

Both Mylan Graham and Quincy Porter transferred away from Ohio State and landed at Notre Dame together. Two players who were once highly touted recruits, didn’t stick around to compete for a depth chart spot for 2026.

Mylan Graham takes a shot at his time in Columbus with the Buckeyes

Graham met with reporters on Tuesday and was asked about the biggest adjustment he’s dealt with since leaving Columbus.

Reporter: What’s the biggest adjustment so far?

Graham: I would say academics.

Reporter: What’s different?

Graham: Not too different. You just have to actually go in person. At Notre Dame, obviously, everybody knows how it is with academics.

There’s no question that Notre Dame is a more prestigious academic institution than Ohio State. But Graham chose to do online classes at Ohio State, when he could have attended class in person. Graham was taking a small shot at Ohio State here with the mentioning of academics, whether he admits it or not.

Graham spent two seasons at Ohio State and played in 13 games with six catches and 93 yards to his record. The former five-star recruit was buried behind Emeka Egbuka and Inniss in the slot, then was passed on the depth chart in 2025 by Porter and David Adolph.

Sometimes a free start is good for everyone and that’s likely the case with Graham landing at Notre Dame. The Fighting Irish needed more talent at the wide receiver position, and Graham needed somewhere with more clear playing time available.
