Tyler Shough is already pushing for the Saints to draft his former teammate in the 2026 NFL Draft
The Saints could use another offensive weapon.
The New Orleans Saints have plenty of objectives this offseason. Kellen Moore will certainly be thinking of quarterback Tyler Shough throughout free agency and the 2026 NFL Draft.
A key connection between a prospect and their current starting quarterback may help them out when it comes to landing another offensive weapon quite soon.
Tyler Shough pushes for Saints to draft WR Chris Bell
The Saints quarterback is all in on New Orleans adding his former teammate to the squad in black and gold. Bell is expected to be taken on day two of this year’s draft.
“Man it would be great, man. I’ve been talking to Tyler Shough since this process started,” Bell told Arye Pulli for Saints on SI. “He said he’s been telling the Saints about me, he hope they get me. He said they need somebody like me so it would be great to reunite with Tyler Shough.” — USA TODAY
The Saints should certainly be considering improving their offensive skill position group around their young QB, and Bell could be an option this offseason.
“Bell has the look and feel of a true X receiver at the NFL level. That size and speed combination at 6-foot-2, 220 pounds with a 4.4 forty is precisely what teams covet when building around a franchise quarterback. You can line him up on the boundary, ask him to win one-on-one against a team’s best corner, and trust that he possesses the physical tools to come down with the football. Smaller, quicker corners will struggle to match his physicality at the catch point, while bigger press-man defenders will find themselves in foot races they cannot win once Bell builds up a head of steam. That two-way threat is what separates potential WR1s from the rest of the receiver class.”

We will see if Bell is a player that the Saints consider once their first-round pick is already in the books. Many mock drafts have New Orleans selecting running back Jeremiyah Love or a defensive stud in the first round.
Accordingly, a wideout in the second or third round could make a ton of sense for the Saints future. Only time will tell.
Regardless, the Saints QB is already keeping an eye out for young talent on his radar.
