Lane Kiffin and the LSU Tigers may be on the verge of winning a huge recruiting battle.

On3’s Steve Wiltfong, Adam Gorney, Sam Spiegelman, and Chad Simmons all predicted this week that LSU will land 2027 five-star cornerback Joshua Dobson.

Dobson, 6-foot-1/175 pounds from Cornelius, NC, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 2 cornerback in the nation and the No. 1 player in the state of North Carolina. He’s also rated as the No. 6 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.

“Dobson is one of the best cornerbacks in the class and the development at LSU over the years has stood out so much, along with his relationship with Corey Raymond,” noted Gorney.

The Tennessee Vols, Texas A&M Aggies, South Carolina Gamecocks, and Auburn Tigers are among the schools also in the mix for Dobson.

This recruiting battle isn’t over yet, and the other teams in the mix will certainly turn up the heat, but it sounds like it’s going to be awfully tough for any of those programs to beat out Kiffin and the Tigers for the five-star defensive back from North Carolina.
