There are two new suitors in the Maxx Crosby sweepstakes and it could change everything for the Raiders
The Raiders could find a partner in a Maxx Crosby trade.
Trade buzz around Maxx Crosby has put the Las Vegas Raiders in the spotlight. Although the team initially resisted trade talks, the growing interest from other teams has prompted them to listen to every offer.
Two new suitors in the Maxx Crosby sweepstakes
According to NFL insider Dianna Russini, Crosby is drawing serious interest around the league. The Dallas Cowboys have long wanted Crosby, and now the Baltimore Ravens and Philadelphia Eagles are also in the mix. GMs believe the Raiders are open to a deal.
Both the Ravens and the Eagles are monitoring the situation, according to NFL insider James Palmer. Rumors involve the Eagles possibly offering defensive tackle Jalen Carter in exchange for Crosby. This potential scenario would give the Raiders a highly regarded young defensive tackle in return. Such an exchange would provide the kind of promising piece the Raiders may want as part of a trade package.
The Raiders may want to trade Crosby if it means getting an elite player in return—an elite player who’s super young and cheaper than Crosby, plus a potential draft pick. The Raiders are rebuilding right now, and they need every piece they can get to build a team that can get back to winning. They need draft compensation and good players—young players, too.
On the other hand, if it’s the Ravens and the Eagles, it changes everything as well. Crosby may demand a trade or specifically request to be traded there. Why? Well, he wants to go somewhere he can win, and both teams have been successful lately, with postseason trips and, for the Eagles, a recent Super Bowl win over the Kansas City Chiefs. The possibility of that may be enticing to Crosby. And, if it is, and he asks for that, owner Mark Davis is the type of guy who could grant Crosby his wish.
Things are obviously heating up right now.
