NFL free agency is in full swing and then some as of Thursday, with a number of big moves taking place around the league.

However, not every player puts his name on the dotted line on Wednesday, when players could officially sign with their new team after the negotiating window began on Monday. There are several notable players who remain free agents.

One of them is former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jauan Jennings. His old team, the San Francisco 49ers, made a huge splash this week by prying away Buccaneers superstar Mike Evans after 12 seasons in Tampa Bay. However, Jennings has yet to find his new football home.

As things stand, Jennings is arguably the top free agent wide receiver on the market as of Thursday morning, which ESPN writer Matt Bowen confirmed in his updated list of remaining free agents.

Jennings was the top receiver and the No. 3 overall free agent available.

This is what Bowen had to say about Jennings:

What he brings: At 6-foot-3, 213 pounds, Jennings is a consistent route runner who plays through contact and makes himself available to the quarterback on in-breaking targets. He caught 55 passes last season for an injury-riddled 49ers unit, scoring nine touchdowns. Jennings was even better in 2024, when he ranked 12th in ESPN’s receiver scores and had 975 receiving yards.”

Jennings is coming off back-to-back strong seasons in San Francisco. He had a whopping 113 targets in 2024 and turned them into career highs of 77 catches and 975 receiving yards. Had he not been ejected in the season finale, he could have cracked that elusive 1000-yard mark. In 2025, he posted a career-high nine receiving touchdowns on 55 catches for 643 yards across 15 games.

Of course, his aggressiveness on the field and blocking prowess are well documented, which contributes to the overall package he can provide on a down-to-down basis.

We’ll see in the coming days where Jennings will continue his football career, but he shouldn’t have to rush his decision. After all, he should have plenty of interested parties as one of the top players left at his position.
