The Buffalo Bills shook up the NFL landscape when they signed EDGE Bradley Chubb on a massive three-year, $52.5 million deal with $29 million in guaranteed money. He may not be the splashiest of names, but he adds a solid presence to the defensive line and will give Buffalo something they’ve been looking for for years: solid production from an edge rusher.

Chubb quickly took to social media to shout out the Bills Mafia after he signed with Buffalo. However, there was one question that fans had been wondering, and that was what jersey he’d be wearing. Chubb didn’t make the fan base wait long with his decision.

Taking to social media, Chubb was posted in a photo wearing a No. 9 jersey, solidifying what jersey he’d be wearing for the Bills in the upcoming 2026 season.

Bradley Chubb is going back to his roots with the jersey decision

Chubb’s decision dates back to his college days, where he wore the No. 9 for NC State from 2014 to 2017. During his career in college, Chubb played in 39 games with 103 solo tackles, 204 combined tackles, 26 sacks, one interception with four passes defensed, one fumble recovery, and nine forced fumbles. He was a one-man wrecking crew heading into the 2018 NFL Draft.

The talented pass rusher has changed numbers throughout his career, donning the No. 55 when he played for the Denver Broncos. In five seasons with Denver, he played in 49 games with one interception, five passes defensed, six fumble recoveries, 26 sacks, and 170 combined tackles.

When he went to Miami, he once again changed his number, deciding on No. 2. In three seasons in Miami, he played in 41 games with two passes defnesed, nine fumble recoveries, three forced fumbles, 22 sacks, and 133 combined tackles.

Now, he’ll get a fresh start in Buffalo while going back to the number that helped make him a household name in college. If Chubb can bring that same disruptive energy to the Bills’ defensive line, the No. 9 jersey might quickly become a fan favorite in Orchard Park.
