Philadelphia Eagles 3-round mock draft after first wave of NFL free agency: Replacing Reed Blankenship, improving the OL, and missing out on one big need
The Eagles have work to do in the 2026 NFL draft.
An offseason of change is in full effect for the Philadelphia Eagles. Some veterans have already exited in free agency, while the Birds have been looking for impact replacements. Tight end dallas Goedert has returned to the fold as well.
The 2026 NFL draft will also play a key role in the short and long-term outlook of Nick Sirianni’s team. As free agency’s first wave has come to a close, I ran through a multi-round mock draft scenario that makes sense for Philly right now.
Eagles 3-round mock draft entering NFL free agency
Round 1, Pick 23: Blake Miller, OT, Clemson
Miller has been a consistent pick for the Eagles in these exercises, for good reason. They know they may only have one season of Lane Johnson remaining, and then offensive tackle will be a huge concern. With Miller being one of the most talented players remaining on the board, he’s the pick here.
Round 2, Pick 54: A.J. Haulcy, S, LSU
Haulcy was a play making machine in his college career, and I think the Birds could use more of that with Reed Blankenship going to the Houston Texans. No true replacement has been signed so far, and Haulcy has more physical tools than Blankenship did during his time in Philly’s defense.
Round 3, Pick 68: Dani Dennis-Sutton, EDGE, Penn State
Dennis-Sutton has some of the most intriguing pass rush chops in this class. He plays with a ton of strength and added some moves to his arsenal in 2025 that were not there previously.
He’s got to refine parts of his game, but I trust Vic Fangio’s staff to help him accomplish exactly that more than I would if he landed elsewhere. The pass rush remains rather thin for Philly for next season, and this was a good way to help improve that.
Round 3, Pick 98: Justin Joly, TE, NC State
This is a great outcome for prospect and team. Joly can be a backup tight end to begin his pro career, since Dallas Goedert is back for at least one more season. Joly’s after the catch ability is really exciting for a young TE, and he possess strong hands.
He was incredibly productive with the Wolfpack and was a consistent force in the passing game. I think he can make an early impact for the Birds offense as a depth pass catcher and climb the depth chart as a rookie.
In this mock draft, the Eagles were not able to add a linebacker. While that may not seem concerning on the surface, Jihaad Campbell is coming off of another shoulder surgery and has limited experience.
Zack Baun remains a Pro Bowl level talent, but with Nakobe Dean out the door, it is a bit nerve racking to consider the LB room without addressing it in the draft. Of course, Philly may add a veteran depth option before late April rolls around. Only time will tell.
