Latest intel could have shown the Broncos hand with what they’re trying to pull off in the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft
Sean Payton and the Denver Broncos will look to the draft to help bolster their roster for 2026 and beyond.
If the Denver Broncos had quarterback Bo Nix in the AFC Championship game, they would have gone to the Super Bowl. Just needed to get that off my chest.
It’s a pivotal offseason for the Broncos, who are hoping to continue the success they saw in 2025 and use it to build something even greater in 2026. Denver made waves across the entire NFL by swinging for the fences in their acquisition of former Miami Dolphins wide receiver Jaylen Waddle via trade. It’s a win-now move from the front office, giving Nix and the offense an important weapon.
Denver was the only team, before the Waddle acquisition, to not bring in any new faces. Instead, they focused on bringing back key contributors to run it back next season. That’s not to say that new faces won’t be added, as the NFL Draft is rapidly approaching.
The Denver Broncos hold a top-30 visit with an exciting prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft
News broke that the Broncos held a top-30 visit with Boston College offensive tackle Jude Bowry. The possible Day 2 pick is 6-5, 314, and more than a little athletic. Mike Klis was the first to report the update on X. Bowry and his counterpart, Logan Taylor, are two of Boston College’s top prospects.
He’s a high character player with strong and active hands. His relative athletic score skyrocketed off the charts with a 9.37. He’s patient and does not panic or get overaggressive, and in his entire college career has only allowed two career sacks. Furthermore, he’s a versatile offensive lineman with snaps at both the left and right tackle positions.
Perhaps one of his few knocks is that he’s logged under 1.400 career snaps and dealt with some nagging injuries for Boston College in 2025. The third or fourth round projected pick would be a dream with Sean Payton and the offense, even if it’s a player who needs some time to develop.
That said, the upside is hard to ignore. The Broncos have made it clear this offseason that they’re building around Bo Nix and doing everything they can to maximize this window. Adding a player like Bowry wouldn’t just be about depth; it would be about protection and development, along with long-term stability up front. Something that you cannot ignore in today’s NFL.
If Denver truly believes it’s closer than most think, these are exactly the kinds of moves that help a playoff team get over the hump and reach the Super Bowl.
