The Los Angeles Rams haven’t hidden their desire to add to their offense during the offseason. They’ve been publicly involved in the A.J. Brown trade saga, and multiple mock drafts have linked them to a wide receiver in the first round of the upcoming 2026 NFL Draft.

Davante Adams’ contract will expire at the end of the season, and the Rams don’t have a lot of depth behind Adams and Puka Nacua, making the position a need this offseason. However, an opportunity has arisen that the Rams could be interested in pursuing.

Should Rams consider an OBJ reunion?

The last time Odell Beckham Jr saw an NFL field was in 2024, when he caught just nine passes for 55 yards with the Miami Dolphins. He hasn’t quite been the same ever since he won a Super Bowl with the Rams back in 2021. However, the Rams, and Sean McVay, have never hidden their love for him. In McVay’s own words, he “loves Odell”. Odell crashed Sean McVay’s wedding back in 2022, and the pair have been nothing but supportive of one another in public.

Yet, the Rams shut down pursuing him as an option when they had the opportunity to at the end of the 2024 season.

Keep in mind that the Rams’ team doctor revealed that OBJ does not have an ACL in one of his knees after he reported for a physical before their Super Bowl run. It’s no surprise that the knee injury OBJ suffered in the Super Bowl might have sapped Beckham for years, leading to his diminished production in the seasons following.

However, he did look good in the Fanatics flag football game, looking much smoother as a mover than he did for years. Granted, pads and movement skills on an actual football field are much different, but it’s worth noting that the juice as a mover was still there.

The Rams do need depth, and OBJ has already played with and built a strong chemistry with Matthew Stafford and has already played in McVay’s offense before. I would definitely be interested in adding him over the summer in camp and taking a swing to see what’s there. The Rams simply don’t have any proven depth behind Adams and Nacua, and both missed time with injury last season. In an “all in” season, the Rams can’t afford any unnecessary risks. He wouldn’t be my only move at wide receiver, but he would be one I would at least consider if I were in the room.
