The Dallas Cowboys aren’t being shy about their interest in a prospect with a little DeMarvion Overshown in him

The Dallas Cowboys already have an “Agent 0” in DeMarvion Overshown. They’re looking into another one ahead of the 2026 NFL Draft.

The Dallas Cowboys aren’t being shy about their interest in adding a big-name defender from the Texas Longhorns in the 2026 NFL Draft.

Head coach Brian Schottenheimer, defensive coordinator Christian Parker, and VP of player personnel Will McClay were all in attendance for Texas’ Pro Day on Tuesday. But by then, their work researching linebacker Anthony Hill Jr. was already underway.

“The Cowboys had dinner with Texas LB Anthony Hill Jr Monday night in Austin ahead of today’s Pro Day,” insider Clarence Hill Jr. from DLLS Sports reported on social media.

Hill Jr. is a strong candidate for Cowboys

Hill Jr. is considered a Top 50 prospect in this year’s class and is a legit candidate for the Cowboys, especially if they trade down from No. 20 overall into the backend of the first or even early in the second round.

As of this writing, linebacker is considered the biggest remaining need for the Cowboys, as they have yet to add any player at the position this offseason. There are only three inside linebackers rostered in Dallas; DeMarvion Overshown, Shemar James, and Justin Barron (Marist Liufau moved to outside linebacker per the Cowboys).

Speaking of Overshown, the Cowboys would be getting a similarly explosive linebacker in Hill Jr. should they pick him in late April. Our own draft expert Rob Gregson from A to Z Sports provides a scouting report.

Anthony Hill Jr. scouting report

“The Dallas Cowboys already have an agent zero that hails from the burnt orange of Austin, but why not add another?

Anthony Hill Jr., is one of the best stacked backers in this class because of his NFL ready instincts and downhill explosion. He’s a see ball, get ball kind of player who has the lateral juice to flow sideline to sideline and make plays in the passing game.”

“I know Dallas has been burned by some ‘coverage only’ stacked backers, but the truth is that Hill is much more than that. He can stunt and game on run blitzes, he can key and diagnose at a rapid pace, and he changes direction well. He’s who you want blowing up plays behind the line of scrimmage and inserting himself into run fits with ease.” – Rob Gregson
