The Denver Broncos don’t have a first-round selection after sending the No. 30 overall pick to the Miami Dolphins in the deal for wide receiver Jaylen Waddle.

Denver’s first selection in the 2026 NFL Draft won’t come until day two when the Broncos pick at No. 62 overall.

That’s unless, of course, the Broncos decide to trade up in the draft.

Broncos general manager George Paton doesn’t rule out trading up in the 2026 NFL Draft

Broncos general manager George Paton met with reporters on Monday at the 2026 NFL league meeting in Arizona and admitted that trading up in the draft is something Denver could consider.

Denver will most likely stay put at No. 62 overall, but there are a couple of scenarios that could make sense for the Broncos to trade up.

Specifically, if a player who is a great fit for the Broncos starts to fall — such as Texas A&M Aggies wide receiver KC Concepcion — maybe Paton will decide it’s worth it to trade into the late first round or early second round (Denver recently canceled a pre-draft visit with Concepcion, but he’s still a dream fit for the Broncos’ offense).

A more likely scenario would be if Vanderbilt Commodores tight end Eli Stowers starts to fall past the middle of the second round. In that scenario, Denver may decide it’s worth it to trade up 10 or 15 spots to select Stowers (the Broncos still have a need at tight end).

I wouldn’t expect Denver to be super aggressive in trying to move up, but it’s a scenario that’s at least on the table based on Paton’s comments.
