Welcome to April! We’re now just three weeks away from the start of the 2026 NFL Draft. I’m not quite finished with the full class, but I do feel great about where I stand on the top of this class. Most of my lingering evaluations are fringe players who are hoping to get their name called on Saturday.

The total headcount? We’re a little lighter in the way of first round grades than a typical year. But we still have a plethora of potential impact players and sturdy starters in the right situation. Here’s how I have the top-50 players of this year’s class stacked.

Breakdown of the grades

Here’s the position-by-position breakdown of how my personal top-50 stacks up in 2026:

  • Quarterbacks: 1
  • Running backs: 1
  • Wide Receivers: 7
  • Tight Ends: 2
  • Offensive Tackle: 5
  • Interior Offensive Line: 4
  • EDGE Defenders: 7
  • Interior Defensive Line: 5
  • Linebackers: 5
  • Cornerbacks: 6
  • Safeties: 7

My first-round grade cutoff sits at 15 players, with an additional 17 players that graded with ‘Late 1, Early 2’ grades, meaning teams picking between 16-24 and 33-42 in the early chapters of this year’s draft are going to be most at-risk of having below standard talent available.

These rankings are not adjusted to reflect positional value, either — it’s more so the quantification of how I graded the players against film criteria. So I don’t necessarily expect this to serve as a predictive top-50. But teams drafting early that lean into positional value (QB2, OT6 going early) will be key for the teams sitting in those ‘risk’ zones having good value falling into their lap.

Keep tabs for an update in the week of the 2026 NFL Draft, at which point I’ll have every player graded ranked for this year’s class.
