‘As far as I know, it’s still not a big deal,’ Lions head coach Dan Campbell speaks on Terrion Arnold’s name being referenced in legal case
Lions head coach Dan Campbell talks about the Terrion Arnold legal situation for the first time, and there doesn’t seem to be any concern
There’s been a recent story surrounding Detroit Lions cornerback and 2024 first-round pick Teriron Arnold that has some very serious implications attached to it.
Arnold’s name has been referenced in an armed kidnapping case in Tampa, Florida. Per his attorney, his name being referenced does not show any guilt of anything or even inclusion in the event that allegedly took place. Arnold has not been arrested, charged, or questioned.
On Monday, we got to hear from Lions head coach Dan Campbell on this story for the first time, and he’s standing by Arnold.
Lions head coach Dan Campbell trusts Terrion Arnold
“We got all the information that says he wasn’t involved,” Campbell said at the annual league meetings in Phoenix, Arizona. “That’s what we know. That’s all we know. That’s really all I can say. And that we’re monitoring what’s out there. I mean, as of a month ago, this was nothing. So I have no idea what this is. As far as I know, it’s still not a big deal. It seems like he wasn’t involved in this.”
When asked if the Lions had been making sure they were doing anything to prepare for a possible bad outcome with Arnold, he said that the Lions were happy to get Rock Ya-Sin back. But again, he did say that bringing Ya’Sin back had nothing to do with what’s going on with Arnold right now. He also mentioned that the Lions were excited to get Ennis Rakestraw back this year and that he’s had a great offseason. But doubled down on the fact that he trusts Arnold.
“…Until something happens. I feel like we’re going to be good here. I’m going to trust what the kid (Arnold) said.”
At this point, this is what it is. The Lions will continue to monitor the situation, but it would seem they feel comfortable enough about how things are going with it. We’ll see what things play out in the end.
