The Miami Dolphins were fairly selective with what players off of the 2025 roster have been invited back to the party once again for the start of a new build. Only a handful of players that needed new contracts this offseason got them to stay in South Florida.

One of the biggest ones handed out was a one-year contract for tight end Greg Dulcich. The Dolphins, who plucked him off of the New York Giants practice squad at the beginning of the 2025 regular season, paid him over $3 million for an encore in 2026. And now Miami’s new general manager, Jon-Eric Sullivan, has given Dulcich a strong vote of confidence during an appearance on ‘This Is Football’ with Kevin Clark.

Sullivan was asked by Clark which one player on the team that he’s excited about taking a leap and getting better. His answer was not a young holdover from last year’s draft class. It wasn’t 2024 first-round pick Chop Robinson. It was Dulcich.

“(Greg) Dulcich. I thought he had a really good back end of the season (in 2025) and I want to see if he can build on that. That’s why we brought him back.”

The dollars say Miami put their money where their mouth is, too. The Dolphins obviously paid up for a chance to get QB Malik Willis in the building. But Dulcich is the only other signing this offseason to command north of $1.5 million in salary. That includes returning players and free agents.

Dulcich is signed for $3.25 million in total value.

Sullivan has done quite well thus far in his tenure to avoid lip service. There has been a plethora of examples of follow-through on talking points. You can count this among them. Dulcich finished 2025 fourth on the team in receptions and third in receiving yards — despite not dressing for the first two months of the season. The encore will be fascinating to watch unfold. And we know now that Sullivan is watching closely and carries high expectations along with the rest of us.
