The Alabama Crimson Tide kicked things off on Saturday with the A-Day scrimmage game underway to see where the team stands this Spring.

This is where the coaching staff gauges players, position battles, and where the team needs to improve. We saw positive takeaways like Keelon Russell looking the part, but there was also unfortunate news after the game. One impact player who has had a strong Spring went down and left the game in a cart.

Crimson Tide WR Noah Rogers leaves A-Day on a cart with a leg injury

One of the best parts of A-Day, besides finally seeing Alabama Crimson Tide football again, is checking out the newest additions as well. WR Noah Rogers has been a solid transfer portal addition to a WR room that has a lot of uncertainty still, which makes his injury today even worse.

Rogers went down in the end zone when he went for a catch, and was helped to the medical tent while he was unable to put weight on his leg. Then, he left on a cart with his leg in a brace near the midway mark of the scrimmage.

Alabama Crimson Tide Head coach Kalen DeBoer spoke briefly about Roger’s injury after the game and said he will have an MRI while undergoing further evaluation.

“Unfortunate with him getting dinged up. We’ll kind of see what that looks like,” DeBoer said. “We’ll have more information here as we go through the spring and summer.”

Rogers was a massive transfer portal addition who brought size that was missing from the Crimson Tide’s WR room. He’s a bigger target at 6-2, 201 pounds, and now someone will need to step up. He wasn’t the only injury update we received during A-Day

RB EJ Crowell seen on the sidelines of the A-Day scrimmage

One injury that fans have been curious about is highly ranked true freshman RB EJ Crowell, who has been inactive this Spring with what DeBoer called a “week-to-week” injury. Well, we finally saw Crowell at the A-Day scrimmage, and it didn’t look positive.

Crowell was seen in a walking boot and on a scooter on the sidelines, which adds some clarity on the injury.

Thankfully, Crowell has plenty of time to get healthy, but he has missed a lot of valuable springtime. In the meantime, Daniel Hill, AK Dear, and Kevin Riley have all impressed the Alabama Crimson Tide coaching staff.
