‘Evidently he came out throwing haymakers’ – Tennessee is in the mix for transfer guard Juke Harris and the battle is heating up
The Tennessee Vols are one of several programs hoping to land Wake Forest Demon Deacons transfer guard Juke Harris. The talented guard is being pursued by some of the top programs in college basketball.

Harris, 6-foot-7/200 pounds from Salisbury, NC, averaged 21.4 points per game as a sophomore for the Demon Deacons this past season. He’s the type of scorer the Volunteers are looking to add to the roster.
Tennessee head coach Rick Barnes went on an in-home visit with Harris this week. Barnes recruited Harris out of high school, so there was already an existing relationship there.
The North Carolina Tar Heels and the Michigan Wolverines are also pursuing Harris.
Additionally, the NBA looms as an option for the Wake Forest transfer.
North Carolina is being aggressive in its pursuit of Juke Harris
According to 247Sports’ David Sisk, new Tar Heels head coach Michael Malone made Harris a “huge” NIL offer.
“Word is that Mike Malone made him a huge NIL offer that dwarfs anyone else to date,” said Sisk. “The actual number is up for debate. As of right now, those leaning toward Michigan are sticking with the pick, but they don’t seem quite as optimistic as before. Coach Malone had a puncher’s chance, and evidently he came out throwing haymakers. He has made this a competitive battle.”
Tennessee is in this battle, but they’re going to have to find a way to beat out a huge NIL offer from North Carolina, the NBA, and the opportunity to play for the national champs.
The Vols have a shot, but they’re going to have to make some magic happen to get Harris to Rocky Top.
