3 final predictions for the Philadelphia Eagles with the 2026 NFL Draft now just days away
The Philadelphia Eagles have their plan ready. Will it involve surprises or a trade during the 2026 NFL Draft? Head coach Nick Sirianni saw his team take a step back over the course of the 2025 season, and now, there’s pressure to show development and create a strong long-term roster under GM Howie Roseman.
With the 2026 NFL Draft just a couple of days away at this point, it is worth taking a look at some final predictions for the Philadelphia Eagles.
These are three predictions for Eagles GM Howie Roseman’s plan for this year’s draft. It’s a blend of trends from the past, coupled with reports of their interest in certain players and positions over the past few months.
Eagles go offensive line in the first round
Offensive tackle is the popular pick for Philly in round one right now. I understand it. The Eagles do not shy away from a long-term investment early in the draft and even proved that true last year with linebacker Jihaad Campbell, now a projected starter, in the first round.
OTs like Blake Miller, Monroe Freeling, Kadyn Proctor, and Max Iheanachor are all players expected to go sometime in the first round. Now, we will see if one of them lands as Lane Johnson’s potential successor in Philadelphia.
Safety is addressed on day two by the Birds
I like the day two depth of this safety class, and Philadelphia may have that in mind, too. LSU’s A.J. Haulcy is an experienced, productive prospect who makes a lot of sense for them to add alongside the young Andrew Mukuba. Other names like Zakee Wheatley from Penn State and Bud Clark from TCU are getting day two buzz as well.
The Eagles’ need at safety is the most prominent on their defense to me, and I’d expect Roseman to be aware of that, too.
Howie Roseman finds hidden gem pass rusher on day three
If the Birds opt to go offensive line and pass catcher early on, the defensive needs along the front seven may get pushed down a bit. That has not stopped Philly from drafting impactful players, and I don’t expect that to stop this year.
A few EDGE players that I believe make sense for the Eagles between rounds four and seven include Florida’s Tyreak Sapp, Western Michigan’s Nadame Tucker, and Ohio State’s Caden Curry. The Eagles lost pass rusher Jaelan Phillips during free agency, so the position remains a clear need with the draft and latter stages of FA remaining.
