Florida Gators land themselves in exclusive company for top recruit, and Jon Sumrall is primed to land him
Florida Gators HC Jon Sumrall is recruiting at an incredibly high level right now, and they have another four-star recruit on their radar.
Florida Gators head coach Jon Sumrall is doing a great job recruiting.
Over the last two weeks, Sumrall has landed multiple recruits, including five-star offensive lineman Maxwell Hiller and four-star quarterback Davin Davidson. Right now, the Gators have a whopping seven commitments, which has them in a significantly better spot than last year at this time.
The offensive side of the football has been the most successful for Sumrall right away, and it’s getting stronger.
Florida Gators in drivers seat to land four-star WR Anthony Jennings
The next recruit to potentially commit to the Gators is one in their own backyard.
Four-star wide receiver Anthony Jennings is now down to his top-five schools, and the Gators are in there, as well as the Auburn Tigers, Maryland Terrapins, Syracuse Oragemen, and Florida State Seminoles.
From Fort Lauderdale, Florida, Jennings is the 291st-ranked overall recruit, and the 44th-ranked wide receiver. At 5-11 and 160 pounds, Jennings is an explosive weapon in the pass game. He displays quick feet to create separation, has good field vision to make plays in the open field, and has the juice to separate from defenders.
Right now, the Gators are setting the pace for Jennings. He has already visited Gainesville three times, with a fourth already scheduled for June 4th. The Rivals’ Recruiting Prediction Machine has the Gators with a commanding lead at 94.3%. Marcus Davis is the lead recruiter, and he’s already landed four-star wide receiver Tramond Collins.
It’s not just that the Gators are leading the way with Jennings, three prominent recruiting analysts from Rivals have predictions in for Florida to land him.
- Director of recruiting Chad Simmons
- Gators Online’s Corey Bender
- Gators Online’s Blake Alderman
If Sumrall can land Jennings, it would be another strong signal that his recruiting efforts are going to continue to be strong.
