New Orleans is getting a new offensive playmaker. Arizona State WR Jordyn Tyson is the latest New Orleans Saints first-round pick. In the process of getting selected early on, he made some unique history alongside his sibling, too.

The new Saints wideout, alongside his brother Jaylon Tyson, are both now first-round selections in their sport. Jaylon was selected 20th overall in the 2024 NBA Draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Saints made Jordyn the 8th overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft.

“The 21-year-old receiver said his name was called in the draft around the same time he he saw his brother hit a 3-pointer in Cleveland’s 126-104 Game 3 playoff loss against Toronto.” — NBA

There is no doubt that both players have athletic backgrounds in their family, and their hard work has paid off in a massive way. They’ll share a unique honor that no other brothers can as of now around pro sports.

Jaylon was not able to attend the draft due to his team’s playoff game, of course, so Jordyn did honor him a bit by wearing his older brother’s sneakers to the event. They were the shoes that Jaylon wore to his draft night, so they hold a special place in the family’s heart.

Day two of the 2026 NFL Draft begins Friday night at 7 p.m. ET. The Saints will look to continue building a competitive roster under head coach Kellen Moore with Tyson already in the boat for their future.
