The Dallas Cowboys will be a main character in Day 3 of the 2026 NFL Draft. After a couple of first-round trades, they now hold three fourth-round picks, including two picks in the first 15 selections of the day.

So what can they do with their newfound ammunition to close out their draft in style? Below are 10 names to watch.

Best Day 3 players for Cowboys to target

Defensive prospects

  • CB Jermod McCoy, Tennessee
  • S Jalon Kilgore, South Carolina
  • CB Keionte Scott, Miami
  • S Kamari Ramsey, USC
  • EDGE Dani Dennis-Sutton, Penn State

McCoy has to be the most intriguing name on the list above. Are the Cowboys willing to pull the trigger in the fourth round? Jerry Jones said they don’t want a redshirt rookie in the fourth, but do they view McCoy as one? Or is it more about the long-term concern?

While Kilgore and Scott make sense in terms of value, they could be viewed as redundant players now that the Cowboys have Caleb Downs to man the slot. Then again, freeing up Downs to move around could be smart.

Dallas suggested third-round pick Jaishawn Barham will be tested at inside linebacker first, so don’t rule out another edge rusher. Dennis-Sutton is a highly athletic prospect with upside, scoring a 95.8 in our A to Z Sports Athletic Composite Score.

Offensive prospects

  • iOL Beau Stephens, Iowa
  • WR Elijah Sarratt, Indiana
  • TE Michael Trigg, Baylor
  • RB Mike Washington Jr., Arkansas
  • OT Dametrious Crownover, Texas A&M

Watch out for Stephens, who received pre-draft interested from the Cowboys and is one of the most underrated prospects in the class. His run blocking makes him a candidate for depth at guard.

If Dallas wants long-term insurance policy at wide receiver, Sarratt—a contested-catch standout—is worth a flyer. Trigg is a tight end, but he projects as a big receiver at the NFL level.
