The Green Bay Packers have a long tradition of keeping undrafted players on the roster. After making six draft picks, general manager Brian Gutekunst won’t have much space on the 90-man roster to add more young players, but the front office will have to be diligent to make sure it is making the right choices.

“I know our roster’s pretty heavy right now,” Gutekunst had said before the draft. “After this draft and the UDFAs we sign, we’ll see where we’re at.”

Since 2005, the Packers have kept at least one undrafted free agent on the initial 53-man roster in almost every year — the exception was 2024, but then Green Bay claimed undrafted kicker Brandon Narveson off waivers a day later. Last year, for example, nose tackle Nazir Stackhouse made it.
