The Lions are looking for speed, speed, and more speed on offense, and this visit just proves that again

The Detroit Lions are clearly showing that you can never have too much of the same thing. They just signed Greg Dortch in free agency and then drafted Kendrick Law in the fifth round. These are a couple of smaller gadget-type receivers who do big things on special teams. Now, the Lions are meeting with another guy who is just like that.

Lions meeting with veteran receiver Scotty Miller on Tuesday

Here’s what we know about Miller: The dude is incredibly fast. He runs a 4.39 40 and can stretch the field probably more than Dortch and Law can. So there is a bit of a deep option there. Here he is getting downfield in the NFC Championship game in 2020.

He works well in play-action heavy offenses, which is what Detroit is, and he can be used as a kind of decoy out there. When Miller is on the field, you’re paying attention to that speed and not paying attention to something else.

In addition to that, he’s obviously someone you can use on special teams a lot as a gunner or possibly a return man.

Miller was a sixth-round pick by the Buccaneers in 2019. He spent four seasons there and helped them win a Super Bowl. he spent one year with the Falcons and two years with the Steelers. he still plans to meet with other teams, it looks like.
