Tennessee Vols fans are hoping to hear some good news this week regarding Wake Forest Demon Deacons transfer guard Juke Harris.

On3’s Chris Low said this week on The RTI Low-Down that his intel points to the Vols landing Harris possibly as early as this week.

“You never say never, but all my intel says that this week that Juke Harris will pull the trigger and come to Tennessee,” said Low. “I know his mom is a big fan of the program, and a big fan of Rick Barnes. Tennessee was right there in it when he went out of high school.

“In this era, you never say something’s a lock, because someone can always [say], ‘What about if we pay you $5 or 6 million?’ I think Michigan has probably been in Juke Harris’ ear telling him, “Hey, Ament is coming back, so you might want to rethink that decision.’ Well, we know that (Ament returning to UT) is not happening now. So I do think, unless there’s a big snag or a curveball at the end, I think Juke Harris will be a Tennessee Vol. I think we’ll probably hear something this week.”

Low’s intel on Harris came a few days after Vols star freshman forward Nate Ament declared for the 2026 NBA Draft.

Ament has until May 27 to withdraw from the draft.

Harris is also considering the NBA Draft, but he’s not a lock to be a first round pick, which makes him much more likely than Ament to play in college this fall.

Vols insider shares latest on Juke Harris, Nate Ament, and Tennessee

VolQuest’s Austin Price joined 104.5 The Zone’s Ramon and Will on Tuesday and discussed Harris, Ament, and the Volunteers.

Price noted that he doesn’t see Ament and Harris playing together at Tennessee. He also suggested that the chances of Ament withdrawing from the NBA Draft are very low.

“I personally think it’s Tennessee or the NBA (for Harris),” said Price. “I think he’s going through the process right now. The feedback he gets will determine what he decides to do. If he’s still mocked early second round or late first round, I think he comes back to school. And I like Tennessee’s chances there if that’s the case.”

“I would say it’s 99 percent closed,” continued Price when asked if Ament is leaving the door open to return to Tennessee. “I think there’s a sliver, sliver of a chance that there would be a reversal of fortune. But I don’t think that’s the case if Juke Harris picks Tennessee. I don’t see those two playing together. One, I think Tennessee would [have to] figure out the money situation in that instance. And then two, there’s only one basketball to go around.

“And so I think that’s where we’re at with it. Again, I would say that that (Ament returning) is 99 percent closed and one percent open at this point. So you can’t totally close it, but it feels like it’s pretty far down the road (with Ament and the NBA).”

The Vols need a dynamic scorer like Harris, who was described by Price as an “alpha”, to put this roster over the top.

It’s looking good for Tennessee’s chances of closing the deal with Harris, but nothing is ever done in college basketball until it’s done (and even then, we’ve seen that things can change).
