Packers land transformative offensive weapon in way-too-early 2027 mock draft as future outlook takes shape

Florida State wide receiver Duce Robinson would add an exciting element with a combination of size and speed to the offense. Expect the Packers to have many more picks in 2027.

The Green Bay Packers made only six draft picks this year. However, everything will look much different a year from now. Yes, the team won’t have a first-round pick yet again, but general manager Brian Gutekunst made sure to have much more draft capital.

“I’m probably gonna try to get to 20-some picks next year,” Gutekunst said. “I don’t think it’s gonna change the way I look at things. This was a unique year.”

With the trades of Rashan Gary to the Dallas Cowboys and Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles, plus the compensatory pick projections, the Packers are slated to have 11 total picks in 2027 — a class that’s evaluated to be much better than this year’s.

Travis May, A to Z Sports’ College Football Managing Editor, made earlier this week a three-round mock draft projecting what the initial part of the process may look like. And it’s an intriguing proposition for the Packers.

Addressing offense and defense

With the 53rd pick, in the second round, the Packers selected Florida State wide receiver Duce Robinson. He’s a huge player, literally and figuratively speaking. A 6-6, 222-pound receiver, he would likely fit the Packers’ preferred profile for the position.

Robinson had a breakout year in 2025 at FSU, catching 56 passes for 1,081 yards and six touchdowns. PFF listed him in the top 5 among 2027 WR prospects.

“Robinson is a freak athlete standing at 6-foot-6 with backgrounds in baseball and swimming, but he boxes out defenders in the red zone like a basketball player. His 3.03 yards per route run was the sixth-best mark in college football last year.” — PFF

After losing Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks this offseason and only adding Skyy Moore, there will probably be space for another piece in the room a year from now.

In the third round, the Packers selected LSU safety Dashawn Spears. He will be 21 by next year’s draft and had an impressive 2025 season, allowing a 29.9 passer rating when targeted — he received a 90.3 coverage grade from PFF. If he takes a step forward in 2026, he could be drafted much earlier.

Extra selection

At this moment, the Packers are projected by Over the Cap to receive two fourth-round compensatory picks (Malik Willis and Romeo Doubs), a fifth-rounder (Quay Walker), and a sixth-rounder (Kingsley Enagbare). However, Willis’ pick may become a third if he starts most of the season for the Miami Dolphins, as expected.

The compensatory pick is a secret formula by the NFL, but it’s based primarily on salary yearly average and snapcounts — individual awards also have an effect over it.
