What is the Met Gala?
The Met Gala is culturally known as a huge night for celebrities to show off extravagant outfits, but its purpose is to raises significant funds for the Met’s Art’s Costume Institute.
- The Met Gala marks the opening of the department’s spring fashion exhibition.
- Approximately $31 million was raised from last year’s Met Gala, the largest sum in the 77-year history of the event.
- This year’s theme is “Fashion is Art.”
This is the second year in a row Burrow has popped up at the Met. He wore a light blue suit in his debut appearance last year.
Burrow’s first big foray into the fashion world came in 2024 when he pulled off a backless suit that turned everyone’s heads.
Even long before his stardom, it’s been a part of his life.
“My mom was in fashion merchandising when I was little, so she’s always played a role in that,” Burrow said in Episode 2 of Netflix’s “Quarterback” series. “Buying school clothes, and she would always get me colorful shirts that I would like to wear.”
Burrow’s mother, Robin, would agree.
“I mean, honestly, I feel like from the time he was kind of little he was always a little bit particular about his clothes,” Robin said during the episode. “He liked what he liked for sure. I think it’s exciting that he shows his personality in those ways.”
Burrow and the Bengals will be entering Phase 2 of the offseason workout program in the coming days, starting with rookie minicamp on Friday and Saturday.
