Steelers UDFA that the rest of the league forgot to draft just received a label that every NFL rookie would love to have

The Steelers had 10 picks in the 2026 NFL Draft, but there is an undrafted free agent who has received a label that every rookie would love to have.

The Pittsburgh Steelers drafted 10 rookies over the course of the weekend during the 2026 NFL Draft, with plenty of highlights, surprises, and picks that made some scratch their heads.

But the work didn’t stop there, as Pittsburgh began calling prospects to round out their 90-man roster. UDFAs were signed, and now the Steelers sit with a roster they believe can contend for a championship. But which of the Steelers 2026 UDFAs should you keep your eye on? There might be one player who fits the mold.

DT Kevin Jobity named Steelers most exciting UDFA

“A 6’4″, 304-pound defensive tackle who is unpolished but has a high motor, Jobity had the best season of his collegiate career in 2025, logging 30 tackles and five sacks at Syracuse.”

“Jobity’s athleticism and versatility are going to make him a player to watch this summer. And Rubio is going to have his hands full seeing off Jobity for a roster spot.” – Gary Davenport, Bleacher Report

How Kevin Jobity can make the Steelers roster

As Davenport alluded to, there is a defensive tackle on the roster who was drafted ahead of Jobity and his name is Gabe Rubio

Now, you could argue that Rubio was one of the more surprising picks in the NFL Draft, which may seem rich for a sixth-round pick, but Rubio was ranked somewhere in the 500s on the consensus board ahead of the draft. Yet he was the one who was selected, whereas Jobity was widely viewed as a draftable prospect.

Kevin Jobity 2025 stats

  • 30 total tackles.
  • 6 tackles for loss.
  • 5 sacks.

That’s not to say that Jobity is a blue-chipper, and the Steelers have a deep defensive line following the re-signing of Dean Lowry, but Jobity has a chance to make this roster thanks to a unique trait: interior pass rush.

Finding someone who can rush the passer from an interior alignment at a high clip is a rarity, and one that NFL teams covet. The Steelers had that once upon a time with Javon Hargrave, and there is a chance they have it again with Jobity.
