Cleveland Browns fans are going to feel great about Jerry Jeudy’s admission regarding Deshaun Watson being back on the field
Deshaun Watson is back and healthy for the Cleveland Browns with voluntary OTAs just about over. Browns WR Jerry Jeudy had a promising admission about Watson’s return so far.
The Cleveland Browns have a few days left of voluntary OTAs, then the heat turns up a bit with mandatory minicamp before the players break until training camp.
All eyes have been on the starting quarterback battle between Deshaun Watson and Shedeur Sanders. There’s a possibility the Browns will have a starting quarterback named by the end of mandatory minicamp. Watson is the favorite in the clubhouse to win the job.
Staying on the field has been the biggest issue for the veteran quarterback, he’s never played more than seven games in a season with the Browns. Entering his fifth year with the team, the hope is that the tide has shifted.
Jerry Jeudy’s comment on Deshaun Watson is promising to hear at this point
Watson is back and healthy after missing 10 games in 2024 and all of 2025 with an Achilles injury. In the final season of his current contract in Cleveland, he has every need to go out and ball this year for the future of his NFL career. Cleveland’s top wideout had a promising admission on where he stands.
“He looks a lot more confident, a lot more comfortable just having those days, giving him time to prepare himself mentally and physically,” Jeudy stated. “He’s a lot better for sure.”
The Browns and new head coach Todd Monken are in a spot where they have to go with whoever gives them the best chance to win. Cleveland can’t start one of the younger quarterbacks to develop them if it doesn’t give them the best chance to win. This is why we’re seeing Watson as the favorite to win the job to this point.
Last time Watson was on the field was in 2024, and he went 1-6 in his seven starts. The Browns’ highly paid quarterback had just 1,148 passing yards, five passing touchdowns, and three interceptions during those starts.
Cleveland is hoping Watson can turn back the clock and put out plus-level quarterback play for the first time in a Browns uniform. What Jeudy has to say adds to some of the noise coming out of Berea, but fans are going to have to see it to believe it with Watson.
